The 3rd Birthday receives UK release date, English trailer

Square Enix’s third-person shooter The 3rd Birthday is set for a drop date in the UK on April 1st. Along with the new release timing, an English trailer was also released into the wild, boasting about three minutes of running, gunning, and torn jeans.

Be prepared for some Japanese standbys, though, as heartfelt but ill timed J-pop songs, exaggerated gasps, and love stories involving spikey-haired dudes are all over the second half of this trailer. There is a juicy amount of gameplay in there though, so there is something to look forward to–unless, of course, if J-pop and spikey-haired dudes are your thing.

FF Agito XIII renamed, targets summer release

Final Fantasy Agito XIII is now Final Fantasy Type-0. Apparently, according to director Hajime Tabata, the PSP-bound title lacks enough similarities with Final Fantasy XIII to warrant the use of “XIII” in its title.

Square Enix announced the change at its 1st Production Department Premier media briefing where it was also given a ‘summer 2011′ release window. Nothing more specific though.

Tomb Raider screenshots, art arrive

Square Enix has popped out a number of screenshots from Crystal Dynamics’ upcoming Tomb Raider reboot.

As detailed earlier, the game will show the origins of Lara Croft’s tomb raiding ways and portrays her at the young age of 21, marooned on an island, as players get to shape her into a hardened survivor.

The outing will also possibly include a multiplayer component. That’s just rumor/wishful thinking for now though.

Grab the shots below, there’s ten total.
