Ubisoft have followed up news of Child of Eden‘s European Q2 2011 release by confirming that the game will come to the US this Summer. No word on if that’s early or late Summer, but given the expected April – June release in Europe, it’s a safe bet to assume sooner than later.
Child of Eden is heading to Xbox 360 and PS3, supporting both Kinect and Move.

It may have been a bit elusive ever since its June 2010 reveal, but Ubisoft’s Child of Eden is at last showing intentions of release; originally scheduled for Q1, the non-downloadable Rez successor is now on for a calendar Q2 2011 release. That’s April-June then.
The information comes from the publisher’s latest release schedule.
Expect the “multi-sensory shooter” to hit Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It will be compatible with both Kinect and Move.

Following recent rumors, Microsoft has formally announced plans to release a Kinect software development kit (SDK) for Windows PCs.
The first version, due out this spring, will be non-commercial and available for the “academic research and enthusiast communities.” Microsoft Research will provide access to Kinect’s audio, system application-programming interfaces and direct control of the Kinect sensor — all in the name of academia. Microsoft states a commercial version will come at a “later date.”
This marks quite a turnaround for Microsoft. When Kinect hacks were breaking out in Nov., it pledged to “work closely with law enforcement” to keep Kinect tamper proof. This shift from walled garden to public park should come as good news to the PC community. Although you can control robots and Mario now, expect the condoned versions for PCs to be even better.
